Living in Ho Chi Minh City

Important things to know about living in Ho Chi Minh City (from some Vietnamese students):

* How to cross the road: Always be careful when crossing the road.

* It's very dangerous if you use a phone while driving or walking on the roads.

* Shopping: If you are a foreigner, you can expect to pay more money than Vietnamese people at the street markets.

* Vietnamese people are very friendly, and they will always try to help you even if they don't understand English.

* You need to know some Vietnamese words to speak to Vietnamese people, for example: Xin Chao=hello, cam on= thank you, tam biet= good bye, bao nhieu= how much.

* The traffic is very dangerous if you're not used to it, so be careful when walking down the road.

* If you want to live in Vietnam for a long time, you need to learn how to drive a motorbike.

* Don't go out after midnight. It's dangerous in the city.  There are thieves, robbers, and sometimes even violent criminals out at night.

* There are many street names in Ho Chi Minh City, including lots of small side streets, so you can't possibly remember all the street names.

* You need to eat some special local food: Pho, Com Tam, Banh Mi

* You can go to Bui Vien street to drink beer, make friends, and dance.

* Ho Chi Minh City has a wonderful nightlife: clubs, pubs and food.

Ho Chi Minh City is a big city in the south of Vietnam.  It attracts many people from Vietnam, but also from all over the world.

The population of Ho Chi Minh City is very high, so the city is crowded.  But on the plus side, the economy here is very good, and there are many beautiful sights to see in Ho Chi Minh City.
The local people are very friendly and hospitable.  If you have never been to Vietnam, then you should go to Vietnam.  Don't even think about it--just go!  You will see many interesting street foods.  It is cheap and delicious.

Many peiople say that Ho Chi Minh City has a wonderful nightlife.  In my eyes, Ho Chi Minh City is so beautiful in the evening.  There aren't any traffic jams.  I feel comfortable.  Because I'm a student, I feel afraid when there are traffic jams.  When I get stuck in a traffic jam, I'm afraid I will be late to class.  It's very tiring.  I hear the sounds of the traffic, and horns, and these are the things that I see and hear every day.  I think that if you come to Ho Chi Minh City, you will see that it has terrible traffic jams every day.  Maybe you will find it very interesting to try to cross the street here.

In Vietnam, the students study hard, but when they finish school, many students can't find a job that suits their abilities, because there are too many people, and all the schools and hospitals are overcrowded.  It's different from many other countries in the world.

There are many other things I want to say to you, but I don't know the words to say it.  So I will have to end here.

Thank you for reading.

Ho Chi Minh city is very nice.  It is very dynamic.  I think Ho Chi Minh City looks like California, because it has a lot of people, and a lot of people come to Ho Chi Minh city from Japan, England, Germany, and Korea.  And these people have many stores, and nail shops, and noodle restaurants--the same as California.  Ho Chi Minh City is multi-ethnic.

In the morning, Ho Chi Minh City is very noisy because there is a lot of traffic.  Everywhere you look the streets are packed with traffic.  If you are new to Ho Chi Minh City, you will feel very bad because of all the traffic jams, bad smells, and robberies.  But if you live in Ho Chi Minh City for a long time, I'm sure you will grow to love it.

You should buy everything at a supermarket because the staff there can speak a little English and it is very cheap.  By contrast, Ben Thanh Market and Tan Dinh Market can be very expensive.

I think most Vietnamese students like life in Vietnam, but some of them don't like it.  The schools in Vietnam are small and nice, the teachers are friendly and good hearted, and I love them.  The schools in Vietnam are not modern like American schools, and they don't have high technology.  If you want something hi-tech, you can study at RMIT University or Asia International High School, or Vietnam-Australia School, but the school fees will be very expensive.
If you have a part time job, like at a store, or shop or supermarket, then you can go to school in your free time.  You will have to do your homework every day because you will have a lot of homework from one lesson in just one day of class.

In Vietnam, some people work very hard and have a high salary.  For example: teachers who teach English, pilots, bank staff, and accountants at big companies.  I think working in Vietnam is exciting.  The Vietnamese companies are usually small and family-sized.  60% of Vietnamese companies are small.
The American companies are very big corporations, and have a lot of subsidiaries.
If you want to have fun, you can go to the theatre and karaoke, read books, study language, and go to Bui Vien street to drink beer with foreigners.

I usually study English and practice and exercise at Bui Vien street.  It's very fun and cheaper than most other places.
You can wander around in district 1, but you should be careful because there are robberies everywhere.

Thanks for reading.

Ho Chi Minh city is a big city.  It is a modern city.  It has a lot of big malls, restaurants, buildings, and other things.  It is busy and crowded and sometimes it is very noisy.  When I drive to work, sometimes I get stuck in a traffic jam.  It is unpleasant and I feel tired.

There are a lot of great foods in Vietnam.  There is traditional food like pho, hu tieu, banh xeo, and others.  There really is a great variety of food.

Not only does it have great food, but it also has many beautiful sights, like Ben Thanh Market, Duc Ba Church, and others.

In Vietnam, people always relax after working or studying.  They go out with their friends.  They often go to a coffee shop or go shopping.  This is the life in Ho Chi Minh City.  You should try it.

Thank you for reading.

I come from Ho Chi Minh city of Viet Nam. How are you?

Have you ever been to Ho Chi Minh before?

Welcome you to our city. I'm willing to be your tourist guide.

First of all, I would like to give you some information about Ho Chi Minh city.

The Ho Chi Minh is the biggest city in the South of Viet nam, Its population is nearly eight million people . The city was named after the great leader - Ho Chi Minh. I'm proud of it's history. The Vietnamese people carried out the war of resistance against The French and The American colonialists. After the war, the city has been modernized and transformed . Nowadays, it attracts foreign investment and encourages domestic investment.

But besides these advantages, Ho Chi Minh also has a lot of serious problems. There are a lot of people from other places who come here for studying and living. The traffic jam during the rush hours causes the streets to be packed with vehicles. The living environment has been polluted by air and smoke from cars and buses. A lot of the food has been contaminated by pesticides or other chemicals. Violence and theft are a problem in the city…

In Ho Chi Minh, life is full of trouble and danger but it also has interesting things and happiness.

I hope you'll visit to Ho Chi Minh soon and I hope that the city will make an impression on you.

My Life in Viet Nam

Ho Chi Minh is a city in Southern Vietnam, famous for the pivotal role it played in the Vietnam War. It's also known for its French colonial landmarks, including Notre Dame Cathedral, which was made entirely of materials imported from France, the the 19th-Century Post Office.  Food stalls line the city's streets, especially around the bustling market.

Ho Chi Minh's nightlife scene varies from one district to another, although venues that play live music close soon after midnight due to Vietnam's rather strict laws.  If you're looking to party in style, District 1's rooftop bars and swanky nightclubs stay open until 3:00 or later, offering excellent service, dance tunes, stylish ambiance, well-dressed crowds, and panaromic views of the vibrant city and beyond.

It is hard to be a Vietnamese student.  They must focus on learning and also still find a part time job to earn enough money to take care of themselves.  In Vietnam there are many schools: universities, international schools, et cetera.  In the past, many Vietnamese parents tried hard to get their children into American schools, or schools in another foreign country.  But these days, there are so many international schools in Vietnam that this is no longer necessary.

If you come to live in Vietnam, you can have a very good  life.  Have you ever considered taking advantage of Indochina's developing job market and start working in Vietnam?  You can work in business, or as an accountant, or in IT, etc...You can live and work overseas. In Vietnam, you can find a job easier than in America.  And in Vietnam, the cost of living is very cheap.  There is a lot of different kinds of food in Vietnam.

But the most important thing is that Vietnamese people are very friendly.  They always welcome foreigners who come to Vietnam.  If you live or work in Vietnam, you will have a simple life and you will have a lot of free time to spend with your family.  The pace of life in Vietnam is much slower than in America.

Actually, if you decided to come to Vietnam, I would be very glad to meet you.  We could meet in Bui Vien Street.  We could drink some beers, eat some Vietnamese food, and just look around at all the people and traffic on the street.  We could listen to music, and share our experiences, or discuss some things about life or our work.

Today, i'm writing to you about life in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.

In HCMC, people's life is very comfortable because HCMC is a big city in Vietnam. Many people from other  provinces come here to live and make money. So, the traffic jam problem has become serious here.
On the other hand, when you live here you don't need to worry so much about your life. If you have time and you have money you can go somewhere to travel, relax and enjoy everything that you like.

in HCMC you can eat many kinds of food from other countries and you can wander along the street to find beautiful places and enjoy the food....

The down side is that the weather in HCMC  can be boiling hot. But the good side is that it's a very exciting city for playing and entertainment. And you can try to drive to work, school or somewhere by motorbike, which is very interesting.

In Vietnam, we don't have annual holidays at our jobs, so we work of the time.  But we do have some time off, the same as other countries.
I think that if you work at an American company in Vietnam you will have to work hard, and compete with your colleague and you will have many experiences from your job, and the work environment.

By the way, you can meet friends at coffee shops, schools or make friends anywhere because the Vietnamese people are so kind and friendly.

Today, i send a letter to you to describe what everyday life is like in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.

Ho Chi Minh is one of the biggest cities in the south of Vietnam. It is a main city for tourists. The most striking thing people notice is the friendliness of the people living in Ho Chi Minh City. And here have many jobs, so many people from many countries try to find a way to move here and hope to change their life.

But now, pollution is making it become a worse place to live and many people live here so many things have a high cost, too. If you like the quiet then this place isn't a place that will suit you.

When you are driving on street, you can see a lot of traffic and many cars. but if you find a high tower, you can see the beautiful of HCMC. HCMC has been named "the city of night." When the sun goes down and the lights turn on, HCMC becomes an even more beautiful place.

And it isn't hard to find food in HCMC : Banh Mi, Pho ,.... these are all names of popular food in HCMC .
Students in HCMC have to learn a lot. They can't do Whatever they want to. And they don't study practical things about life or get experience on how to handle danger. In my opinion, the education system in this city needs to change. The students should learn more practical things rather than only learning theoretical and useless things.  It should change to be the same as the American schools.
HCMC  has many cinemas, shopping malls (such as Vincom) and places that everyone usually meets  together at. There are many bars and clubs, too.. so that everyone can come and relax ....

HCMC  is not a bad place at all. but you need to be careful with criminals in HCMC .
And there are many historical places in HCMC, so it's a great idea for you to come. ^^
That is all the information that I want to share with you. Thanks for reading.

I'm writing to describe daily life in Ho Chi Minh City in Viet Nam. Viet Nam is a country in Southeast Asia with a humid climate , long coastline and friendly people. Ho Chi Minh City is the biggest city in Viet Nam. The city is very dynamic and noisy. You will be impressed. Every day, when i'm driving to school I see the city wake up by the sound of the citizens. There are many stalls of food on the streets like Pho, Banh Mi, Bun Bo Hue,..which are all names of traditional foods of Vietnam. As a Vietnamese student, I really like living here. My school isn't big but it is full of happiness with conscientious teachers and kind students. The students have to study hard, join the clubs and try to do what ever they like.
In their freetime or on the weekend, Vietnamese people usually hang out with their friends or their family. And I always go to meet my friends in the coffee shop or the stall of food on the street, sometimes in Nguyen Hue walking street. It's very funny and makes me feel excited. I love this city and I hope you will visit my country.
Best wishes
